Aftercare Program

Aftercare News!

We are happy to announce that viewing and paying for aftercare charges have been made easier! All charges will now be paid through your F.A.C.T.S. fee account. Charges will be posted to your account on a weekly basis and you can go online at any time to view these charges and make payments in any way you choose. You will have a grace period of one month to pay the previous month’s charges before you will incur any late fees. For example, if you normally pay on the 5th of the month, all charges for August won’t be “due” until October 5th (September is the grace month). Starting on October 6th you will incur a late fee. You are strongly encouraged not wait till the end of the month and let aftercare charges add up. If you have your fee account auto debited (in other words, if F.A.C.T.S. tuition has your checking account information) they will automatically deduct aftercare charges on their due date if not paid ahead of time. If you have any questions, please contact Tonya Thompson at 763-1821.

We are here to assist you every afternoon!

It is our wish that each an every child have a wonderful and fun experience during their extended school day. We will work with you to give your child the best experience possible. We ask for your cooperation. Please feel free to approach us with questions and ideas. We want to allow our students to have fun with homework time, outside play, directed activities, speakers and entertainment. And, of course, love.

The extended school day program is offered to registered students of St. John Catholic School, Preschool-8th grade. The program follows the St. John Calendar. Care is provided on early release days, but not on early release days before a holiday. A snack time is allowed, but not provided by the program. It is strongly suggested that you send a snack with your child so he/she is not left out.

Early drop off is also available.

Families may drop off their children at the Parish Hall for Before Care. School Support Staff will be there to receive your children at 7:00 AM. You must sign your child in.

Program hours are 2:45 pm – 5:30 pm.

The Extended School Day Program is a self-supporting program with all expenses covered by participants’ fees. The cost is $3.00 per hour or any part of an hour, per child. Fees are charged for the number of hours used. There will be a late charge rate of $1.00 per minute for any child not picked up by 5:30 according to the school clock. Statements are sent home monthly and payment is due upon receipt of statement or can be paid earlier.

The program hours are 2:45 PM – 5:30 PM. Any child who is picked up after 5:30 on more than three occasions will not be allowed to continue to use the after school care program. At the end of the school day, the children are to go directly to the gate by the computer room (cafeteria gate) where they will be met by the after-care staff. Students may not leave any after-care activity without the permission of the supervisor. For the safety and well-being of participants, each child must be signed out by a parent or guardian. No child will be released to a person not authorized in writing by the custodial parent.

1. The STAFF must be informed when the child leaves.

2. If the student is staying in another class for tutoring or any other reason, he/she MUST FIRST CHECK IN WITH THE STAFF.

In order to achieve the goal of providing quality care for children in an environment of cooperation and respect, positive discipline practices will be utilized by all members of the Extended School Day Program staff. These policies and practices are consistent and conform to the school’s discipline policy. If normal discipline practices, such as non-punitive interactions, redirection and time-out, do not facilitate the appropriate behavior, the parents of the student will be asked to join in a conference to discuss and assist in implementing measures needed to assure appropriate behaviors and continued participation. If a student chooses not to, or cannot demonstrate appropriate behaviors, the student will not be allowed to continue in the program.

Should a child become ill while participating in the program, parents will be contacted to pick-up the child from school.
